XAH-00 Orcinus "Whirlwind"

XAH-00 Orcinus, one of Retinetics Weapons Corp's newest X series vehicles. X series vehicles sport an X designation instead of the RE (Retinetics) designation. These vehicles are given this designation for being "pioneers" into new weapons and vehicle designs. The Orcinus is a gunship/attack helicopter, its X feature are rotors that sport a compact version of the repulser lift system. (Rotors in next drawing, not in the drawing due to issues with fitting them in the drawing). It also has a larger magnetic gun on the front, similar to how an A-10 has the massive GAU-8 gatling gun. The front cockpit is a one seat COFFIN system (Connection for Flight Interface) which allows the pilot full control of the aircraft as well as 360 degree views in combat.

NOTAR (No-tail-rotor) systems are used in place of a tail rotor. Under the tail is a slender "pod", this is a small version of the Retinetic's AGEL Anti Ground Electrolaser. This can be used on ground targets but has been shown to be effective at destroying Ground to Air missiles.

One helicopter was captured by the elusive group 1776. It was repainted and modified, having its bottom external missile pod replaced with a medical "sling" to carry rescued victims. It still retained its main internal missile bays.


Orcinus is the genus that Orcas "Killer Whales" belong to. It gained this name because of the fact its layout resembled the Orca. Many of these helicopters have "Orca" eyes painted on the nose because of this, although it isn't as menacing as the shark mouths painted on war aircraft.

Whirlwind is the UEA reporting name for the helicopter.
